Adding a Notification Pill
A notification pill is a small colored badge that appears on your bubble button to grab extra attention. It's a subtle way to signal that there's something new or important for visitors to see.
What is a Pill?
The pill is a small, rounded label that sits on or near the bubble icon. Think of it like a notification badge on a mobile app icon — it tells visitors there's something worth checking out without being intrusive.
Setting Up a Pill
In the notification editor, scroll to the pill settings (available only for Bubble type notifications):
- Pill text — enter the text you want to display (keep it very short, 1 to 3 words)
- Pill background color — the background color of the pill badge (default is green: #4BA951)
- Pill text color — the text color inside the pill (default is white: #FFFFFF)
If you leave the pill text empty, no pill will be shown.

Design Tips
- Keep it short — 1 to 3 characters or a very short word works best. Longer text makes the pill look awkward.
- Use contrasting colors — the pill should stand out against both the bubble button and the page background
- Green for positive — the default green works great for promotions and new content
- Red for urgency — use red (#E53E3E or similar) for time sensitive messages
- Match your brand — use your brand's accent color if it stands out well
When to Use a Pill
- You want to draw extra attention to the bubble without making it larger
- You're running a time limited promotion and want visitors to notice
- You've recently updated the notification content and want to signal that it's fresh
- You want to create a sense of urgency or curiosity
When to Skip the Pill
- Your notification is always present and not time sensitive
- The bubble is already attention grabbing with your chosen icon and color
- You prefer a cleaner, more minimal look on your storefront
