Managing Your Notifications

Managing Your Notifications

The Notifications page in NotifyBubble is your central hub for viewing, organizing, and controlling all of your notifications. Here's everything you need to know about managing them effectively.

The Notifications List

When you open the Notifications page, you'll see a list of all your notifications. Each entry shows:

  • The notification title
  • Its type (Bubble or Text Box), shown as a colored badge
  • The page targeting setting (e.g., All Pages, Homepage, Product Pages)
  • Whether it's currently enabled or disabled

Enabling and Disabling Notifications

Each notification has a toggle switch that controls whether it's active on your store:

  • Enabled — the notification is live and will appear on your storefront (as long as the app embed is activated)
  • Disabled — the notification is saved but hidden from visitors

This is useful when you want to temporarily pause a notification without deleting it. For example, you might disable a sale notification when the promotion ends, then re enable it for the next sale.

Editing a Notification

Click on any notification in the list to open it in the editor. You can change any setting including the type, content, colors, targeting, and behavior. Don't forget to click Save when you're done.

If you make changes and try to leave without saving, the app will show a confirmation asking if you want to discard your changes.

Deleting a Notification

To delete a notification:

  1. Click the delete icon (trash icon) next to the notification in the list
  2. A confirmation prompt will appear to make sure you want to proceed
  3. Confirm the deletion

Note: Deleted notifications cannot be recovered. However, their analytics data is preserved and will still appear in the Analytics page for historical reference.

Understanding the Overlap Warning

If you have multiple enabled notifications targeting the same pages, NotifyBubble will show a warning banner at the top of the Notifications page. This happens because only one notification can be displayed at a time on any given page.

When notifications overlap:

  • The most recently created notification takes priority
  • Older notifications targeting the same pages will not be shown while the newer one is active

To resolve overlaps:

  • Adjust the page targeting so each notification shows on different page types
  • Disable older notifications that you no longer need
  • Delete notifications that are outdated

Tips for Managing Notifications

  • Plan ahead — create notifications for upcoming promotions in advance and keep them disabled until you're ready to go live
  • Review regularly — check your notifications list periodically and remove outdated ones
  • Use page targeting wisely — instead of putting everything on "All Pages", target specific page types to avoid overlaps
  • Check analytics — use the performance data to decide which notifications to keep, update, or replace
